Biography
For over fifteen years I have worked in the media and visual arts as a print journalist and producer/ director of documentary, television and video productions.
My work has been mainly in the area of human interest, lifestyle and arts.
I have also worked as a television reporter and a magazine editor. I originally qualified as a barrister in Dublin.
Past work runs the gamut from feature-length arts projects such as ‘Imagining Ulysses’ (2004 Winner of Celtic Film Festival, Chicago Intercom Film Festival. Santa Monica Film Festival, shortlisted for Prix Italia and Canadian Film Board); to intimate portraits of artists such as ‘Nóirín Ní Riain – Voice at the Edge - Arts Lives’ (2008 nominated for a Radharc Award); to social commentary focussing on the experience of a particular community, such as gay Irish people living in NYC in ‘We’re Here, We’re Queer, We’re Irish’ (1994 winner of The New York Festival’s Social Issues Category) and Irish travellers in ‘Out of Site Out of Mind’ (1996).
I also work as a media coach.
