Biography

An award-winning journalist and editor with nearly 20 years' experience producing consistently well-written online newsletters, news, features and PR, with a flair for accuracy and detail.

Began in trade publishing, first as assistant editor of Hospitals and Health Services Yearbook, then editor of the Printers Yearbook as well as assistant editor of Printing Industries magazine.

Joined a couple of corporate publishing agencies for eight years and became editor of printed and electronic staff and customer magazines for the likes of William Hill, Diageo, Express Foods, Chase Manhattan Bank, Texaco, Nomura, the RAC, Glaxo, and EDS.

I went 'client side' for a year, becoming head of visual identify for ING Barings. I launched a new brand for all marketing material, wrote and subbed copy for publications and read proofs before passing for press, liaised with designers and bought print. I also contributed copy for the daily e-zine and monthly staff newspaper.

In 2001 I went back into agencies, working at Beetroot as editor of three employee publications for the BOC Group until August 2002 when I went freelance.

I've been freelancing ever since, although I did become PR and communications manager for Regus from January 2007 until February 2008, while also running Harmer Editorial Services.

Regus is still one of my clients. I've freelanced for Barclays, NAVTEQ, the NHS, the University of Cambridge, AstraZeneca, Mars, Norwich Union, Hitachi and the WRVS. I also sub-edit and proofread for various publishing agencies.
