Biography

I have made TV and radio appearances and I often advise television production companies on pig keeping for lifestyle and rural programmes. My first book Choosing and Keeping Pigs was published by Gaia in April 2009 with good reviews on Amazon so far. My second book Pigs For the Freezer, a Smallholders guide, was published this May by The Crowood Press. My work regularly appears in trade, rural and lifestyle magazines and newspapers as well as on occasion national newspapers.

TV, RADIO & MEDIA EXPERIENCE

I have also written articles in the past on interior design, Cookery and Travel for monthly magazines such as Devon Life and on occasion national newspapers.

I have appeared on BBC Breakfast on a piece they were doing on Urban Pig Keeping and in 2007, Irish radio covered my campaign

In 2007 and 2008 I was interviewed by Country Channel for an item on Pig Keeping for a smallholding programme and in 2009 I was featured on Rural TV talking about pigs and pig keeping
August 2009, I was interviewed on UR05 Ulster Radio in connection with two articles that appeared about our company and pig keeping in general in the Daily Mail and the Guardian
September 2009, I appeared on Sky News for a feature on urban pig keeping.
I have contributed towards articles in the Times, The Guardian, Best Magazine and the Telegraph newspapers as well as other provincial magazines.

My work can also be seen in the Galloway Gazette.

Through my book Choosing and Keeping Pigs I was asked to give a reading on setting up a smallholding at the Wigtown Book Festival in October 2009.
