I am a journalist with 10 years' combined experience in editorial and commercial writing. As a journalist, I work with the regional newspaper and magazine press. Commercially, I work with individual companies, covering all sizes and sectors, as well as marketing, PR, web design and graphic design agencies who do not have the writing creativity, the specialist knowledge or sufficient time to craft skilful, high-impact copy to demand. I have a particular interest in complementary and holistic therapies including naturopathy, nutrition, aromatology and aromatherapy, as well as Bikram yoga, hatha yoga and Reiki, My own second degree in Reiki has enlivened this passion for complementary treatments, alternative lifestyles and mind, body and spirit topics. I am currently writing a book about a horse whisperer, clairvoyant and animal communicator. I have a great passion for entertaining and dining and I am a keen cook. I am a regular reviewer of restaurants for various regional publications. Commercially, I have a varied portfolio of regular clients, ranging from prominent estate agents and travel specialists, to computer software developers, security professionals, commercial property agents and motorsports. Biography

I am a senior, NCTJ-qualified journalist specialising in commercial and editorial copy and wording for private businesses, as well as the press.

More than eight years’ experience at regional newspaper journalism level means high quality, hard-hitting copy to get your company noticed while you spend your time doing what you do best.

A rich and varied start to my career at the Leicester Mercury has armed me with the confidence and versatility to turn my hand to different forms of the written word, whether it’s something punchy and succinct you need, or some flowing, colourful prose.

I am very interested in complementary medicines and alternative lifestyles and I have a second degree in the ancient healing art of Reiki. I am currently writing a book about one of the UK’s leading animal communicators, horse whisperers and clairvoyants.

My two other passions are food and Bikram yoga, in equal measure. As well as being a keen experimental home cook, I regularly review restaurants and am passionate about simple, locally-sourced food. I am equally enthusiastic about historical homes with a tale to tell, not least because I am imminently moving into one myself, which will no doubt provide me with plenty of inspiration.

To date, my regular client list is varied and diverse, including computer software developers, estate agents and property specialists, restaurant and bar proprietors, PR consultants, and the organiser and founder of the UK’s only annual Karting show.

Their needs are all very different, but the aspect which they all have in common is a great need for no-nonsense, straight-talking copy, but without either the time or the strategy to get their message across to their desired audiences.

I pride myself on a solid and candid rapport with all of my clients. In my first year as a sole trader, more than 80 per cent of my clients have offered me repeat business.
