Informations biographiques

Since obtaining my Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Cardiff University I've carved a career as an arts journalist, starting as Assistant Editor at International Arts Manager magazine and moving on to be Editor at the Society of London Theatre, writing for leading theatre website officiallondontheatre.co.uk and editing the fortnightly printed Official London Theatre Guide (circulation 145,500).

I've been lucky enough to interview some of theatre's leading actors and directors including Eddie Redmayne, Sheridan Smith, Gemma Arterton, Rupert Goold and Stephen Daldry.

Now freelancing, I'm using my knowledge and experience of the theatre sector to write for various arts and travel publications including Prompt, ATG Magazine, Easyjet Traveller and BA High Life. I contribute to The Guardian's theatre blog and review books for Booktrust.org.uk

I have a keen interest in food and travel writing. I won The Times Young Food Writer competition in 2005 with a piece about Gordon Ramsay and reviewed theatre restaurants for officiallondontheatre.co.uk

While I'm widely travelled - Vietnam, Egypt, Canada and Thailand have been recent trips - these days I'm mostly to be found in Switzerland, and I maintain a blog about my Swiss experiences at carolinebishop.blogspot.com. I'm keen to take on commissions relating to the country, particularly in the French-speaking regions, as I speak fluent French.

I'm also an experienced Editor and in 2011 oversaw the redesign of Prompt magazine, the publication of the Theatrical Management Association.

Lastly, I hold a professional proofreading qualification from the Publishing Training Centre and am open to proofreading commissions. My previous clients include The Wellcome Trust.
